The upcoming conference " Green Energy in MENA Region Conference:Solar Energy, Green Hydrogen and AgroTec" is a significant event co-hosted by HYMENSO, INNOMED, ReSys100, GREEN, AgroTec and The Global Center on Climate Change, Water, Energy, Food, and Health Systems. This international event is scheduled to take place on Dec 2–3, 2025 in Amman Jordan, and will be conducted in a hybrid format, allowing both in-person and virtual participation.
- 1.AgroTec committee
AgroTec is a digital initiative that strengthens the agricultural sector in Jordan and Palestine through a network of VET centres to train and empower future farmers. The project aims to raise agricultural productivity, improve rural infrastructure, promote entrepreneurship, enhance market access, and strengthen local institutional capacities. Core activities include establishing modern training centres, developing curricula that cover ICT in agriculture, precision farming, data analytics, agrarian marketing, and the water-energy-food nexus, and providing staff training to ensure effective and sustainable implementation and improved food security in the region. - 2.INNOMED committee
The project aims to strengthen collaboration between companies and higher education institutions (HEIs) by developing courses on innovative green energy technologies for buildings, while considering climate change impacts and using adaptive learning and teaching methods. It addresses the gap of graduates being less attractive to employers by forging deep partnerships between HEIs and industry. INNOMED will actively promote and facilitate course activities and regional collaboration by delivering courses that can be adopted and implemented across the region's member states. Courses will be offered through virtual classes, enabling students from multiple nations to interact, and will employ modern, engaging learning approaches to appeal to younger generations. The program also supports distance learning, benefiting students in rural areas. Target audiences include mechanical engineers, environmental engineers, architects, and urban planners. - 3.Green Hydrogen committee
The project aims to strengthen cooperation between companies and higher education institutions (HEIs) in Southern Mediterranean Countries by developing courses on innovative green hydrogen technologies. It focuses on preparing students for careers in this field through relevant vocational training and education. Key objectives include developing a vocational diploma in green hydrogen at each partner university, delivering updated green hydrogen courses aligned with modern European strategies, connecting theory with practice, involving policymakers and stakeholders, establishing green hydrogen laboratories for experiments and research, promoting regional cooperation and exchange of best practices, and creating a mutually supportive network for postgraduate students, practitioners, and academics. Target groups include students from Mechanical, Environmental, Chemical, Energy, Electrical, and Mechatronics Engineering, as well as sciences students.
The Green Energy in MENA Region Conference: Solar Energy, Green Hydrogen, and Agro Tec will bring together experts, innovators, and decision-makers to discuss clean energy solutions for the future of the region. the conference will focus on three main topics: Agro Tec, INNOMED, and Green Hydrogen. Showcasing new ideas in agriculture, renewable energy, and hydrogen technologies. The event aims to share knowledge, build partnerships, and support a greener and more sustainable MENA region.
